Terry Mulvey Micro Thread
So good to talk to yesterday. Thanks for your patience while I was driving through the storm… since you know the area so well, maybe next time you can give me a shortcut in the snow!!!
I really appreciate how honest you were with me in your conversation about motivation and focus for this year. I totally understand. You clearly have several large focus points in your life, it only makes sense for triathlon become more of a side gig then the main deal.
You mentioned that the season was very manageable, and the good news is that you roll straight from the program into the Get Faster plan. This plan is more swim bike run, balanced for the season, but still gives you a very focused weekly structure.
The real challenge becomes around the end of June when you are due to transition to the final 12 weeks. At that time I suggest you use our Minimalist HALF plan, which condenses the workouts even more than the normal Endurance Nation plan. You and I can then go back and forth on modifying that.
Outside of the plants, your biggest challenges just staying on point despite your travel schedule and work. I think your basic rule is good: if you're not going to get enough sleep the workout loses. You should definitely continue that. Outside about time, continue with the plan. Feel free to shuffle the days around as needed.
If you on the road, I will take 30 minutes a day of any form of aerobic activity. Onus if you can get the runs done from that weeks program, generally speaking I like to have a rest day on the return and to make sure you don't get too tired. It's one of those long-term investment things!
If you want to talk a little bit about your using goals around run consistency or anything else, let me know!
