Sequence & transition times during multi-activity training days?
Hi,
I am new to EN, but enjoy it!
I quickly skimmed this forum for answers, but I apologize if this is already discussed.
On days when multiple activities are listed, it doesn't mention a recommended sequence for the events, or whether the activities/sessions should be completed consecutively. For example, on Sunday of week 8 of the intermediate short course, it lists a 50 minute run at the top of the day & a 90 min bike underneath that. Does the order (top to bottom) of the activities/sessions in the training program suggest the order in which you should perform the activities (in an ideal world)?
Should I always try to do my bike workouts before my run workouts to better prepare for race conditions? Should I generally to try to swim before biking (I imagine this is less important than the bike-to-run transition)?
If I have a bike and run listed in the same day, should I assume they are intended to be a brick workout (performed with a quick transition from one to the other)?
Thanks!

No such thing as a bad question...so bring it!!!
1. Workouts are listed in our preferred order of completion...so if run is first, we want it done before. Your life might required a different order, or picking one session over another, but we want how they are written.
Side note: many of our runs are PRE BIKE in your early training.
2. We don't have you run off the bike until closer to race preparation (final 6 to 8 weeks). The swim to bike transition is harder than folks appreciate...it's a nice addition to your plan when the weather is nicer and you can make it happen on the weekends in the Open Water.
3. Yes, all workouts are meant to be "stacked" within 15 to 30 minutes of each other (except our split long run, which is AM / PM on purpose). So if you need to do one before the other, or one in the AM and the other in the PM because of life...that's okay.
I hope that helps!!!
