Tuesday Z4 runs

I am just switching over to General prep then into the HIM TP.  I am looking at the first 3 weeks of the plan and see the Tuesday runs: 2x1, 5x.5, 3x1 and was wondering if it is OK to switch those for the local pace runs we do weekly: June and July - 3k, 2m, 5k, 2.5m, August - 3k, 5k, 2.5m, 4.2m.  I like the race aspect to push myself, but I also do not know how long the Tue runs build up to.  Thanks.

  • @David -- Yes, that's fine. The key is just not to go too overboard with the tempo and nuke yourself for the rest of your week! Threshold pace is good, but if I hear you've been running at Interval or 5k pace, yer in trouble... image
  • checking in... Ran the 3k in 12:54 which I guess is about half way between Z4 and Z5 (6:39 / 7:05.) Next week calls for the 5x.5. I guess I should keep it closer to 7:00?
  • I think your pace is fine, esp if you notice no other adverse effects. If you do then we have to back it down a bit...
