FEb OS Week 7 Biking Bonanza Thread

@Elizabeth Hornak - how is the flu recovery going?  Hoping you made it over the hump, past the bad point, and on the road back soon!

I gave myself 2 X21' this morning.  I must have done it right, because it sucked!

  • @Shaughn Simmons - good job! How do you get the suffer score to show up?
@Elizabeth Hornak - hopefully you're back on track!
Did 3x13' @ Z4 yesterday and felt great on my 4 mile run after that, yahoo!

@Daria Matthews - suffer score is based on HR effort (which, on bike is not that accurate IMO) and I believe may requires Premium membership.  More relevant (and also under Premium) is the Intensity factor and total TSS or workload which is calculated for you using your FTP and the weighted average power you generated during the wko....

  • @Shaughn Simmons - cool, yes, I do see TSS, but I think you're right and this may be the premium membership option. I think I can tell what my suffer score is without any additional help, ha!

@Shaughn Simmons  Thank you for kicking this week off - I appreciate the teamwork!!!!

My theme is Back in the Saddle Again!

Last week, everything fell apart, the flu, a snowstorm, an health emergency with my mom, which entailed a weekend sprint trip and four hour drive to see her.

And yesterday, I was back in the saddle. First MS went great, and then at 10' in the second rep, I felt.so.tired, but hung on to finish it up. If I were to give the ride a Strava sufferfest score, it would definitely be in the 80's.

@Elizabeth: A strong effort like that will remind your legs that they have fitness in there just waiting to rise again. @Daria: 3x13' is solid going into test week. @SS: Don't mess with Texas! Have to admit that I was thinking of backing off 15' into my second 20' interval, but here at FOS, we stay strong to the finish. 2x20' at IF .99, 1.02. TSS of 73 in 50min.  Great to have built to this level prior to next week's test. This OS has clearly had a bike focus for me so far. Need to bring my running up prior to exit in 2 months. http://tpks.ws/M0nFi
  • @Daria Matthews Welcome to the Fun Outseason group!
  • @Elizabeth Hornak - thank you! It seems to be a pretty small group, but we are totally cool :D
@John Culberson - strong bike session! Way to kill it!
  • Hey Team ~ so yesterday I aced the bike and did half the amount of the run. About half way through the second set, that big ole' monkey reared his read and whispered, and whispered I back, not today.

I am yoga-fying tomorrow, as I completely forgot that my daughter and I signed up for an indoor tri on Sunday. It will be fun to see all that work put to the test. Full report on Sunday!
  • @Elizabeth Hornak - nice work on that bike and getting back on the saddle this week!

@John Culberson - only real men can pull off a 2 X 20' they way you did!  BOOM!

@Daria Matthews - Strong!  Good luck testing!

I moved into Week 1 of the GF plan and had back to back bikes on Zwift Sat/Sun:

    Sat - https://www.strava.com/activities/913973906

    Sun - https://www.strava.com/activities/915454455

Has a great time riding with Coach P and the EN gang in London on Zwift for the Sunday work!
