Feb OS week 8 aka TEST WEEK!

 Hey y'all! I'm flying to Cali Cali Cali this week so I'm going to focus on my run,  but this week is a very sacred and special week in the ENverse.

Good practice for test week is to follow the plan exactly,  rest rest rest,  fuel and refuel, and follow the run guide add to how to execute.  The goal is to start out slow to finish fast.

At the end of the testing we should all be rewarded with new numbers and if not that,  at least we'll be stronger in our efforts!

Now go get 'em!

  • After a few weeks of unplanned hiatus (daughter's swimming schedule - Champ meet season) I am back and about to go test.  After almost 3 weeks without any WKO this might be ugly but I never did a test to start - so here goes...

    Happy testing all!
  • @Jeff Unruh -that's the way, just dig in....good luck!

  • Went about as planned - my Z5 is always a bit higher than my FTP.  Thankfully several years of FTP tests has me go out the first 5 minutes under control, start to work the middle 10, the last 5 is hang on for dear life.

    Last Saturday's ride gave me a good idea I could target 190+ for the 20 min to yield an FTP just over 180.  A long way to get back 245 but better than the 150'ish I swagged as my FTP when I started.

    All the best in your test this week!
  • @Jeff Unruh - you'll be back at 245 before you know it. Great job!

    @Elizabeth - thank you!

    For the first time ever in my history - I ran out of workout clothes while travelling for work.  I usually come home with them all pressed and clean... just as they departed.  This time I was so inspired by the sun and new locations (hello ocean!) that I ran and ran and ran.  I have my mojo back!

  • My run test - the day never sets up as I think it will. As my zippy daughter went to school, she let me know it was better for her to do her HW after school rather than go for a run. I cranked out the test between work and a conference call (working from home has its pluses and minuses).  I have been very run light, and knew what I wanted to do, and wasn't sure if I could do it.

    I started by walking about a .25 mile (which put on me on a flat road), hit the timer and went. 27:28 {https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1649353138}. I had hoped for under 27:00, but given I am still healing, I will take the win.
