HR Question
I have a Powertap for the bike so I use the HR strap that it came with for that, but I mainly go by power, like I am supposed to.
Anyway here is my question: When I get off the bike to do a brick run or a Race like the one coming up this Sunday (HyVee Tri), I don't have any HR to go by unless I don't wear the HR strap for the powertap and just wear the HR strap for my polar monitor. (Guess I kind of answered my own question, I'll probably just wear the polar strap and not worry about the HR on the bike for data).
What do you guys and gals do? Do you just wear a different HR strap than the one for the PT? or Just don't worry about HR for the run?
Thanks,
RIch

Unless they (PT and Polar) have changed things, the same strap should work for both PT and Polar devices?
I use my Garmin strap for both PT and Garmin. I had to use the Learn process in the PT computer to associate the strap to the PT. It's in the PT manual.
Alternate view: I stopped using HR during my bricks (and run portions of races - I actually take it off in T2) about 4 years ago, and my performance has improved, if anything. My HR while running after a bike was so inconsistent that I was better off going by perceived exertion, and pace.
Your probably right Al, I'm just stuborn and can't quite give it up yet. I don't even begin to look at it on the bike though and that is all I had until about 2 months ago and my bike has definately improved.
In my experience, the coded Polar strap does not work with the Powertap; I tried multiple times when I first got my Powertap and finally just gave up. Kinda sucks because the Polar strap is so much more comfortable to wear.
