EB Update - 7 weeks post op

Since we've spoken, I've thrown in a trip to Vegas and Spring Break. It was not the ideal come back to fitness routine, so I had to improvise.

In addition to my daily PT exercises, I really focused on walking as much as possible. My seven year old was miserable and I might have ruined him for life with all of the walking. I was able to walk 5 miles on the strip, and then did multiple hikes while on break in the mountains. We also threw a trip down the VA Creeper trail and I was able to handle 17 miles, sitting in the saddle for 4 hours... again, the seven year old might need professional help one day because of me.

Last Friday I had my 6 week post op surgery where I was cleared entirely for cycling. I was also cleared to get on a elliptical, which I plan to try out this week. Yesterday I did my first real swim set, nothing crazy but man it felt really good to swim my face off... even if it was for only 100.

500 WU
50 kick
50 aqua jog
200 swim with paddles, buoy, and swim mask.

100X5 (on 1:45) recover between with 50 kick.

200 cool down

After I was done, I felt like I could keep going which was promising. I didn't, and definitely felt fatigued.

I'm jumping in a compurtrainer class this morning to see how that feels. I plan to put my number around 125/130 just to ease back in... I'll keep you posted.

    Woohoo!! Party time!!!

Holy cow that's a fast transition, did time really go by that quickly? (said you're four-year-old NEVER).

I'm really pleased of how you maintained your activity level in addition to your PT. That's the difference maker for sure. You're sort of entering the second phase of your training now, we're me start to look at consistency on the multisport side versus just a aerobic lead. You are right keep the effort low (do you really want to be doing kick sets?) At the outset. If we can have two weeks of happy triathlon training, we can get in one/ one and a half weeks of good biking before Blue Ridge.

Remember, this is still a game about pacing yourself. You're doing a great job so far I can't wait to see you at the finish line!
