Hey Race Rehearsal Folks - Don't Forget About This . . . .
NUTRITION!
I am seeing a lot of talk about bike set-up, IF, TSS, yada, yada, yada. It's all good. And I don't want to be the Kitima of "don't forget the sunscreen." But I am not seeing much about how you are going to fuel on race day, especially how you are doing it during your RR to practice for race day? In my book this is as important, if not more important, than my bike set-up. May be all this is in the forums someplace, but I can't find anything recent doing a search.
- How many calories an hour are optimal for you?
- How are you going to remember to eat and drink out there?
- What specifically will you eat and drink each hour on the bike and run?
- What is your plan B if it is hot, not too hot, you get bloated, etc.?
For me, it is 250 calories/hr with a mix of Infinit/Gels and mini strawberry Fig Newtons. The last was a reco from Kris Frazier last year and it is my new favorite. Me likey.
To remind myself to drink I set my Timex watch to beep every 10 minutes. Makes it a no brainer.
Anyone else have suggestions/reco's?
Thanks.

John,
Thanks for reminder. Also don't forget the Ironman How-To, as well as the HIM How-To, both of which contain links to our Race Day Nutrition webinar.
Oh yeah, don't forget the sunscreen people! SPF is your friend!
