Nate Bailey Micro Thread
@Nate Bailey - Great call today...thanks for your time!
I think we are uniquely poised to help you out this year, for a variety of reasons. First and foremost because of your prior volume training...switching to our focused workouts really makes a big difference. It's a simple transition and not just mentally more exciting; you'll see some real results as you get going.
Your Biggest Limiter is Running...roger that. It would be good to know your "ideal" time (given IMMD in 2016 wasn't conducive to running!). Our training is built around the concept of run durability, which permeates all of our plans. You can learn more about the Run Durability Program (RDP) here.
You Ride Indoors...great..it's the best bang for your buck, even with your schedule. You can get some great short rides in AM or PM if needed. All of our bike rides are on TrainerRoad if you use them (info here) and we just started a Sunday Zwift Ride for the Tempo training we do (open to all, info here).
You Want to Learn About Power...You have to. It's your biggest race day asset. You can browse our eBook here, and if you are feeling brave you can visit the full Power Resource page. And don't forget dropping by the Power and Pace forum to see what the data kids are sharing and learning these days.
You Travel Tons...we got that. This thread is where I will answer 90% of those travel questions. Just make sure you give me some time to get back to you...and we are all set.
I hope this was helpful!!

PS - Small world, I know Donna from Boston...I was on Team Psycho for years and trained with her a few times. Hardest working triathlete I have ever known.

@nathan.bailey1 -
Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.
Power User Tip: Click the Star icon by the Title of this thread to subscribe, and you'll get email updates when I do reply.
Your Notes
pretty good fitness level, looking for a full PR this year at Lake Placid. It'll work out if I start your OS starting on the Nov 27th and roll right into one of your 20 week plans. I'm able to work out most days if needed. I swim Mon-Fri in the AM and have time during the day to get up to a 2 hour work out in. Long workouts on the weekend aren't an issue.
I travel overseas A LOT, typically 1-2 weeks a month, so I'll likely have to substitute outdoor workouts with shorter/more-intense workouts that I can do at hotel gyms.
I'd say I'm intermediate, but want to jump into a sub-11 ironman

Season Update
These are your recommended training plans, including the date you should start each one (sometimes you won’t complete a full plan but transition to another one). You can change your plans on the Training Plan page by clicking the Move / Change button. Learn more about each plan on the Training Plan Central Page.
Coach Notes
Hey, we do things different than just connected plans...we'll make you FASTER through better planning. So we think that a run focus plan now (Run Durability Program) is the best ramp -- low pressure stuff now, easy to hit on the road through -- then the OutSeason Plan starting in January. You'll see the full ramp ^above^ and I promise that it works.
As for dealing with travel stuff, that's what I am here for...post here and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible.
The big step forward for you will be the bike...really building that engine...will you have time in late May / early June to put in a big weekend or few days of riding?
Let me know and let's get to work!

Coach! Can't believe I missed this page earlier in the year, my bad! Your plan looks awesome, I'll load it up and start right away. I should have time in late May or early Jun. I'm trying to convince the wife to let me get to the LP camp, looks like a great time! Does it typically fill up?
Thanks again!
Nate
Good morning! My leave was cancelled for IMLP, but it was approved for IM Maryland. Can we run a new plan with the 29 Sep date or should I just use the same plan you originally gave for IMLP, just sliding the dates around?
Thanks!
Nate
