Weather
Yes, the obligatory and ubiquitous "holy cow the weather will suck! Will they cancel the swim?" thread. It looks like it'll be crappy, plain and simple.
I can honestly say I'm not stressing about the weather. I'm a BOP swimmer and MOP-FOP cyclist (especially in bad conditions), so cancelling the swim and having a wet bike and run suit me just fine!
However, how to pace the possible duathlon-format 69.1 bike/run or run/bike/run?
Obviously, in the normal s/b/r format, the target IF for the bike is .78-.83. With no swim "warm-up", you think I should still shoot for that power range? Higher?
Any proportional increase in run paces over what you'd normally do? Or just stick with the old tried-and-true 3/7/3 format and prove what you have left in that last 5k? Of course, it depends if it's a b/r or a r/b/r too, I realize.
