  • Ohhh, but not TOOOO early, OK? I get in at 10PM, so can we make it 7:00 swim? Leave the hotel at 6:30ish?
  • Ladies- I had a moment of panic this morning as I realized TdF would be in full swing next week and I didn't know if Clarion carried Vs!!! EEEEEEK!!! A quick call to the hotel confirmed they DO have VS (it's on channel 28) so we are all set to get our TdF groove on.

Shall I update the Chica schedule to include afternoon PJ parties in our hotel rooms to watch the Tour?

Kris/Beth- I know you were scouting out a place for mani/pedis. Can ya make sure they have TVs with VS? :-)

Sorry- I'm a little distracted. Is there an race or something that we are training for?

Thanks for checking, Nemo. I was figuring on having hours of TdF to watch on the DVR when I got back, but a PJ TdF party sounds much more fun!

  • I would bet you could find a bar/restaurant with VS as well if you guys wanted to do that. Madison is a pretty cyclist friendly and with Trek's HQ there I bet there are others that are interested in seeing TDF.
  • I'll take a look into spa stuff tomorrow. Sorry- this week has been a hectic one. Fiscal year end at work- many folks out this week and week 2... need I say more?

I also guess I need to check with Michele and see if she wants to do one of the yoga sessions with Pilates?

One other thought and a disclaimer... I will remember bikes, stories etc but I have a hard time with names at times. Would it be too tacky to have some sort of name tag and brief intro at the Thur dinner or Fri dinner? Always nice to put a face with all the stories!
  • Bring the name tags Kris- not a bad idea at all.
  • Any requests for a bike workstand? Can certainly throw mine in car.

That car is gonna start to look like the Beverly Hillbillies!  Bike stand would be very convenient- makes assembly/disassembly of bikes for shipping a lot easier.  But it's certainly a "nice to have" and not a "need to have".  So only toss it in if you really do have the space- OK?

Rich needs a drainer for Saturday's talk -- Gina, if you bring yours, could that double a workstand?

  •  Actually, I am giving Marianne a spare trainer that I have. Then Rich can use that, can also be used as a stand. Will bring bike pump also

Anything else people need? I can also throw it in the car

Well, we ARE coming from TN by way of KY!!! Not a problem to bring. Rich will have to use Tracy's trainer though, mine is Computrainer.
  • Geez, I'm starting to think I'm going to have to ride on the bike rack :-)

Nemo- have you whipped us off a packing check list yet?
  • LMAO!!! Kris- Belive it or not I've already started looking for the list I put together when Gina and I went to Madison in '08. I can't seem to find it, so I'll probably use my race weekend checklist as the starter for a new list. Must remember to add Nair for the boyz backs to the list this time around! Happy to share it if you want it :-)
  • I  feel like I  am packing for a race!!  Right now, I  have several lists going and will consolidate into one later today.

Kris- NO worries. This trip is minor compared to when we went to the beach in May. 2 bikes, 2 dogs, assorted beach stuff, clothing, etc... If one of the dogs had pooted the doors woulda' blown off!!

  • I am bringing 2 cases of Ironman Perform, that way folks that want to try will have it. Got the lemon-lime and mango-orange.

  • Hi Girlz! Just getting back online after my cda trip. flew home last night. work today.

I have access to 3-4 trainers and several workstands.

Let me know if anyone needs a pickup from the airport, or wants to meet up before the official activities start. Anyone getting in to town in time for dinner on Wed? call/text 608.225.2009 or email michele@michelemoreno.com

Looking forward to meeting you all!
  • Can't believe I'll be there tomorrow! Woohoo!

Gina: Thanks for bringing all that stuff for us!

Michele: Good idea on the Wednesday dinner...
So who's coming in on Wed? I'm landing at 3pm. I shipped my bike to the hotel so after I unpack and reassemble the bike I know I'll be ready for some food!
  • Kris and I should be on the road between 7-8am. I think that will put us there by 5. Yes, let's do dinner!!!!

    My cell 205-253-2878

  • Tomorrow! My suitcase is half-packed and I am so excited to see you all. I'll probably be in around ten p.m.

  • I'm half packed too! I'll also be arriving in Madison at 10:15pm, so no dinner for me.

  • Cool! My cell is 585-355-1410.

I'll bring Allen wrenches, a torque wrench, zip ties, pedal wrench, and chain lube for bike reassembly.
  •  Hoping to arrive around 2-3pm tomorrow.

getting late start today. Will drive hopefully half way.

    Phone- 860-729-1726

  • Oh, and I have bike tools, too, including torque wrench...

I can certainly be at the airport at 3pm and later, if you guys don't have transportation...

Sushi (maybe Edo Garden, or Wasabi)? Light soup/sandwiches/salads (Barriques)? Gourmet pizza (Roman Candle)? Or a fun outdoor cafe on State Street, if it's nice outside (forecast isn't promising, tho)? Or Monte's Blue Plate Diner? Or... Or... Or... I'm cool with a game-time decision, just wanted to put some ideas out there for those of you who will be here tomorrow for dinner.

Beth, are you SURE you can't get here in time for dinner? Nemo at least has an excuse that she can't change the flight time... image

Michele -- Take them to Monty's! I have a stupid five o'clock meeting, so no dinner for me. But Nemo and I won't object to you bringing us pie. Right, Nemo?

  • My flight arrives around 5:40. If you can wait til then- LET's EAT!!!!!

Major Bummer!!!!!  Kris, I hope that leg/foot stuff heals up quickly for you!

  • @Nemo & @ Gina - Thanks for the good thoughts - can't express how much it pains me mentally & physically. I've been looking forward to this for quite some time. Hope you guys have super weather, riding, food & awesome companionship.
