Swim Video Feedback?
Hi Team,
Finally got hubby to the pool to take a couple videos of me swimming
Any feedback very much appreciated!
To give some perspective: HIM swim 37' (back in 2012), IM swim 1:13 (in 2014)
Definitively some cross-over going on.
It seems to me that my elbow is high enough? Maybe I should start the pull earlier???
Thanks

You seem to have a thumb first entry from both sides. Wonder if you ever have/had shoulder issues from that. The un-twisting you do (gopro254) starting at 48 seconds in is pretty pronounced and this can lead to injury. From above the water it's harder to see but definetely there under water.
As you turn the arm to flatten it out and extended the hand comes up higher than your elbow which is applying the brakes especially on your right side. This is also results in a bit of a dropped elbow.
Some reading here on thumb entry:

You're right, I see it now.
I did have some shoulder issues in the past year, but this year, so far so good. I'll work on that!
I'll try to find drills to correct that dropped elbow when I extend the hand.
Thanks for your input - very much appreciated!!
I found another thread where I think I should have posted my swim videos - it's here:
