Marianne Gets Power! A beginner's guide to power
oh yeah. what is happening when a People Person gets a gadget? and invades the Power forum?
I felt sick at the cost, but happy at the thought of getting faster on my bike. I go this morning to pick up my bike, Lucky, with a powertap to work with my Garmin. Kudos to hubby for "sponsoring" me.
1. I email Rich to get WKO.
2. I need windows for my mac. ___________ where do I get Windows?
3. I have a century on Saturday so I need to do what? I go to some link to pair up the Garmin with the powertap.
*currently don't know how to set Garmin from Run to bike let alone anything else! Hey I am not making this up. I do well with you tube tutorials, or other pictures or hands on. I don't do well with booklets. I do really well if somebody shows me. thanks a bunch. m

Marianne,
Congrats! Is there a Windows machine in your house that you can install WKO+ and use it exclusively for downloading and processing WKO+ vs purchasing/installing Windows on your Mac?
Just posted this on the IMWI forum...There's a thread from the 3.0 EN forums about WKO+: http://www.endurancenation.us/en_forums/showthread.php?t=4605&highlight=trainingpeaks
Halfway down the first page, Verna does a great tutorial of it. There's also a link to a Youtube vid of Patrick setting up his PMC chart on WKO+.
M-I'll be a couple weeks behind you. After LP camp this weekend, I will be just about ready to purchase. We will get through it together. I will also be doing with Garmin 310 XT..

Congrats. I am a pretty geeky guy and when I had Tom Glynn give me an in-person 1-on-1 tutorial about PT/WKO the first time my eyes glazed over. So don't freak out when you start drilling down on things. It can be overwhelming at times and you wouldn't be alone. Just take little steps and slowly build your knowledge. Maybe also find someone who knows about power at a local LBS or tri club to help you in-person?
As for #3, looks like pairing is on page 39 of the 310XT manual. Download for manual is here: http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/Fore...Manual.pdf
Congrats again.

Mac expert. okay so no I don't know anybody local (YET).... but I have heard of the bootcamp.
??? so it takes 3 softwares. Bootcamp to make my Mac think like a PC, then WKO and also Windows. hmmm
okay so for my Saturday century, I will just turn the thing on and see what it records... without all of the 3 above.

will take a look at Poweragent! I have the Garmin training center. and have been uploading stuff into that.
my brother is a mac guru (but lives in SC) and he suggests this: instead of Bootcamp to run Windows.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/TY009LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1Mw&mco=MTM3NjgxMzU = $79
*now about to figure out where to go to buy Windows? and cost of that? I went to amazon.com and there are all sorts of Windows? (this is getting comical, but my brother pointed out this: see bottom of page for combo package
http://www.amazon.com/Parallels-Desktop-5-0-for-Mac/dp/B002QARRBM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1276263078&sr=8-1
and then Rich for WKO? and cost?
and then let me just ask what is the advantage of WKO over the Garmin training center software??
For X amt of money what am I getting?... (I also need new bike shoes$)
Does everybody have WKO in EN?
*for Poweragent? do you record your swim/run in there too or then use two ? one for biking and garmin for run/swims? m
