Katherine Cozzi's Micro Thread
Hey Coach Patrick!
I need your advice on my schedule for the next few weeks. A week from tomorrow starts my 3 Olympic races in a row. They are ranked as a C race , B race, then my A Olympic race for the year. After the A race, I switch to a HIM training place.
So my question is, should I be reducing any of the workouts during the week between these races? For example, should I still do a long run on Sunday after the race?
Thanks!!
Katherine

So the adjustment happens on both sides of your race. This is what I recommend:
- Week One: Normal week through Thursday, with Friday off, Saturday race, and Sunday get a nice aerobic ride in between one and two hours. Then back to your normal week as planned.
- Week Two: Normal week through Thursday, with Friday off, Saturday race, and Sunday off.
- Week Three: Normal Week Through Wednesday. Thursday OFF. Friday short swim / run session -- 20' each, EASY, with a few pick ups as 3 x 100 @ race pace swim, 5 x 30" @ 5k pace on the run. Saturday race. Sunday consider retirement.
What do you think?~ Coach P
Although, I'm not sure about "retirement" just yet
