FOS ~ Week 12 ~ On The Road Again
Okay Team,
Our numbers are dwindling, but I still have my going FOS play list, so humor me and let's keep the training mojo going.
We are prepping for test week (YAY), still doing drills, unless outside, then single leg drills are not an EN approved method of training unless on a trainer, and increasing our main sets.
Have fun, post when you can even if you are in another plan.
Cheers,
Beth

I am biking tomorrow, so you will see me again. I will probably do the Thurs bike too, unless it rains. Saturday I am racing in a fun "tri" as the bike leg. Other peeps are the run and paddle leg (on the Genesee River!?!?).
What was the wko calling for today that you posted? Interval work? I was looking for the HR line but never found it....how are you measuring the work in terms of hitting those intervals?
I had a swim/run today and am sitting in a lower volume rest week until I race on Sunday.
Where are all the other FEB OS animals?

@Elizabeth Hornak - Frustrating when a bike shop can't get it right. Good luck with that! Are you on Strava? I just did 2x [20x30/30s], but my legs were still gone from yesterday's 10miler.

My power meter kept disappearing after 50 minutes so I guess a new battery may solve the problem.
@Shaughn Simmons - best of luck this weekend!

YAY!
Ok, so I need new shifters, which means that I should start saving for a new bike....
Today, I did the bike part of a "tri," and am doing the EN Happy Dance! 17.0 mph!!!!!!!!!!!!

I beat my arch nemesis by 3'. The season is fast has kicked off with a great ride.
Wheeee!
I was healthy enough to participate in the Texasman X50 Sunday. 1 mile swim, 40 mile bike, 9 mile run.
Race site was north east of Denton at Lake Ray Roberts. The night before, just a few miles north, tornados ripped up Canton, Texas killing some people unfortunately.
Weather conditions were rough. 37 degree wind chill with 20 mph winds entering the lake swim. Coming out of the lake just damn cold and spent 7:46 mins in transition putting on warmer gear….. (transition is normally ~3 mins..)
Bike was in 25 mph sustained winds with 30+ gusts….we managed… https://www.strava.com/activities/964820813
Run was warmer and good for me up through the end and I was able to run hard the complete distance…. https://www.strava.com/activities/964817394
20 secs behind 2nd place which is what the transition cost me due to the cold but, going into this it was just a training day for me and I never knew I was in the top 3 when racing….Last week's rest week is over! Time to roll up the sleeves again!

Safety first in those temps, and I would amp up that suffer score based on the weather.
Way to recover and crank out that run - indeed, it was a great training day. I hope the bling was worthy!
Had planned to ride again today to take advantage of the warmer weather, but work got in the way, and I ended up taking today off.
Time to find a theme for the final weeks of our little OS group.
Ran early today with some heavy legs and did a 5 X 3' at 5K ish pace....

Swim later today...

@Elizabeth Hornak - can't wait to see more of your workouts! You're on a roll.
I took yesterday off and have a bike/run today, but I'm still trying to wake up. It's funny that I have more energy on Mondays, but I make myself take the rest day and then I'm just kinda blah on Tuesdays. I'll post my workouts later.
Go get them!!

Happy hump day all!
