So true, Chuckie V

Came across this 2008 comment from colourful former pro Chuckie V on another site in the tri space:

"In training, and I speak with experience (mine and otherwise) the secret is that there are no secrets. It's a day in and day out, week in and week out, month in and month out, year in and year out, decade in and decade out process. Simple, really!"

(I acknowledge my hypocrisy of posting it, but then asking about micromeasurements in other threads ... but if there's a quote to post above your mirror and see every morning, this is probably as close to it as you can get!):

  • To paraphrase this statement my Karate Sensei used to say "Consistency is key" he also was yelling "keep up, keep up" as me during many classes.  I was in my mid 20's and he was pushing 50 at the time.

Now I just have to remember this following my 2017 IM which is typically followed too much couch time.

  • Feel like I've heard this from Timmy!
  • I really liked his training blogs back in the day...some of it pure gold.  He sort of mentally imploded after the break-up with Angela Naeth.  She went on to stardom and he went on to obscurity.  He blogged a little while hiking the AT but has pretty much been a recluse for years now.
