Hi Team, are you ready to give your teammates some serious mojo for this coming weekend? This thread is to be used leading up to race until Group Me is activated and on race day for the team to comment on race conditions, observations on how our team are doing during their races, or just to provide some mojo on race day.  Listed below are the members that are racing and a link to the IM Tracker.  Post away. Good luck racers.

  • I will be participating in Chatt 70.3 for the 2nd time.  My first was 2015 the inaugural event.  I am doing this one with my just turned 18yo son who will be completing his first 70.3 3days post graduating high school.  I had a little set back in Jan when I had ACDF (anterior cervical discectomy and fusion) surgery so I am racing 4 months almost to the day post surgery.  The Dr. released me May 9 to participate but not race at 100%, which I couldn't do anyway with the training I have had since surgery.  I feel like Colin and I can swim somewhat together and bike together but the run will be all him as I have lost so much threshold running during the 3.5mths of no running.  I will be lucky to make 8:30 pace on race day when my normal is <7.  Look forward to seeing many of you on the course and race weekend.  We are traveling in on Fri evening and staying at the Staybridge ~1mi from the river but will be around on Sat.  I frequent Chattanooga with work so if any of you have questions about it let me know and I will answer best I can.  Chattanooga is a great venue with plenty to do for you and the family and great selection of food as well.
  • Great to see so many EN team members at this race! This will be my first 70.3 and I'm looking forward to it, with a good bit of nerves as well.
  • Let's hope the weather cooperates! Good luck everyone!
  • Great to see so many people.....looking forward to meeting everyone.  This will be my first time in CHOO and hear fantastic things about the area, as well as the race.  Good luck to everyone!
  • good luck to you all!!
  • Loooooong list! Kill it out there!
  • Good luck everyone!!!
  • Good luck.  I heard the swim was canx and I feel your pain since that happened last week at Gulf Coast.  You still need to execute wisely.
  • Great to see so many racing under the EN banner.  Hoping everyone had a great race, and looking forward to seeing those race reports.
  • Looks like I heard wrong...so happy that you guys got the full enchilada!
  • Congrats to all the EN racers yesterday!

The swim times for amateurs look blazing fast ... faster than the pros ... did they swim a different course?
  • @Paul Curtin - The Pros swam the full course. The officials shortened the course for us age groupers after watching them struggle to swim against the current for the first 300-400m.  So we just jumped off the dock and swam straight downstream.  The current was smoking fast! I finished the swim in 15:43.
