A friend got me through to Chattanooga and I think I did very well. Due to her time constraints, new job, etc. I needed a new coach. I didn't come this far to ONLY come this far!
My MAIN goal right now is to be one of those who finishes and Ironman and can still walk (versus passing out after crossing the finish line). The 70.3 was actually easier than I had expected, but I know it was the training that got me through. AND, I know IRONMAN 140.6 is a totally different BEAST! So, I'm trying to make time to read through these forums, learn more about the workout (the logic), and train hard without getting injured. I know I can easily over-train and I don't want that. So far this is a learning experience with a learning curve, but I'm willing to learn.
This week of training is Race Rehearsal. There are 2 scheduled bike rides of 6 hours. One on Friday and one on Saturday. Am I to do BOTH? I'm unsure if one is only for those at Camp (the Saturday ride).
If so, it's going to be a stretch for me to do both so I'll do one as a 3-hour ride on the trainer to get the miles. But I'd like clarification please & thank you. And of course, I'm moving the training days around as 1) I have to work and 2) Sundays are for Open Water (which I'm shooting for the 2.4 distance this weekend), but I do understand there's a method to the madness and am trying to arrange to get the best benefits!
