Here's your personal Coach Thread, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is here to guide you through your first year on EN, so you can always come back here. 

As you'll see in this forum, I handle all manner of edits and changes.  So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

These are your recommended training plans, including the date you should start each one (sometimes you won’t complete a full plan but transition to another one).  You can change your plans on the Training Plan page by clicking the Move / Change button.   • On 7/10 Load the Intermediate Get Faster Training Plan, 10wks to end on 9/17/2017
  • On 8/28 Load the Intermediate 2017 EN*Full, Minimalist, 12 Weeks to end on 11/19/2017
  • On 11/20 Load the -- Post Ironman Transition Plan, All Levels (4wks) to end on 12/17/2017
  • On 12/18 Load the -- Run Durability 1 (9 months out) -- 4 weeks to end on 1/14/2018

 

Coach Notes

You're year is pretty straightforward, especially given Your current level of fitness. Our challenge will be help you continue to progress beyond the basic fitness that you have. In other words, it's always easy to take someone off of the sofa and show them improvement. In your case, there are no sofas in your world… You're out there grinding all the time. :D Being able to find that next gear is our mission.

I would like you to kick things off with our Get Faster plan for a couple of weeks. This will help you gain some specificity with your training and it will fit within the basic hours that you have already on your calendar.

The only exception to this would be if you wanted to get some extra bike miles in on a particular weekend and had the means to do so. In that case those long rides would trump the regularly scheduled Get Fast session (but you can check with me here if you want). 

I am curious to know if you feel like there should be any modifications for the 30 K? Even your current fitness and running experience, I don't feel the urge to do anything super special for it.

Your First Month on the Team
