descents on the Canada course.... (Patti)

I have a race wheel with cork.  I sound like I am killing a cat when braking on descents and I have to pump front brake as well.  In the rain, it is always a challenge....
Questions:  My power meter is on this wheel so I will be using it.  any recommendations or thoughts on how to improve on this braking issue?  How long are the descents?
Thanks!

@Patricia Rosen -  The descents are fairly straightforward, but you will likely still need to break at some point. The first out 'n back by town has a good downhill into a 90° left-hand turn. I am not sure if there is an alternate breaking surface you can use on those rims? I think that's a good separate post in the racing forum if you have time.

bottom line we need you to have that power meter!
  • Thanks, coach.  I think I just have to kill the cat....  I seem to have that noise even with altering the manner the cork hits the rim, cleaning the carbon fiber wheel and well, those have been my interventions.  It kind of freaks me out and scares the neighbors, but I like the wheel and if it's not raining I should be okay.  I'll check out the forums.
  • Ok,  I trust you. I haven't raced one of those wheels and years since the aluminum rim race wheel weight is so comparable now. Good luck!
