okay, I'm chillin' Chicago Marathon October 8...

I'm still feeling a bit fatigued after Canada IM, and have a lot of work to do.  should I do the full 4 weeks of transition before loading up plan for marathon?

  • @Patricia Rosen -  what a race you had! I suggest doing to hard-core weeks of rest and then getting into some later activity. Anything more than 14 days can become a problem to get back from. I know you were active when you are at work, so make sure that those other days you're doing something similar to stay loose whether it's walking or hiking or your activity of choice.
  • Thanks, coach!  I did a run walk with the dog yesterday and just working.  Eating lots of watermelon :)   and watching movies... (came home from race and went to work almost immediately...  slept on plane got home late evening shift...

Monday indoor cycling and Tuesday swim...  work is paramount...  thinking of doing Cartegena in December and then after that I'll be 65!  woot woot! I'll stay on the transition plan and try to get some stuff done.

so I'll load up the blended marathon plan after next week.
  • by the way, my descents in Canada were super fun!  stayed in aero for most and got up to about 40 mph...  love my bike...  glad it didn't rain!
  • @Patricia Rosen - that race sounds incredible! And who knew you were so young. :-) Great to hear that you crushed on the bike… I love how you're always still improving despite how great you already are!  B)
