Marathon Nation

Is there any one in the EN Haus that also belongs to the MN Haus? I am on the waitlist and was just notified that the doors will be opening up in a few days. I am sure that MN has great plans and content. Nothing but the best from Coach P. However, I am wondering if it is really necessary to belong to both Haus's?

I plan on running the Niagara Falls Marathong in the fall. So far under the coaches recommendations I simply plan on completing another round of the OS and using the Marathon Hack guidelines. I am sure that this will absolutely get me to where I want to be. So I am struggling with whether or not to join MN as well.

What do ye think?

  • My take on it is unless you are switching to just doing marathons, no more tri's then join MN. If you are just doing a marathon for the "fun" of it stay put here.

  • My DH has joined MN as he's going to stop doing off-road tris in August and concentrate on just training for the Philly Marathon. The plans are for marathon only and the members seem like a whole different crew from us. I haven't looked at the training plan (cuz the thought of running an open marathon is just heinous to me image) so I don't know how close they are to the Marathon Hack.
My impression is just what Steve said: it's a good place to be if you're concentrating on just that marathon.
BTW, the Niagara Falls marathon is really cool. I sherpa'd for a friend who BQ'd there 2 years ago. The QEW runs parallel with many side streets to the race course, so I was able to see her several times during the race. The finish line is right by the Falls.
  • @ Peter -- you can use the hack here if the marathon is just a waypoint on your tri journey. If you are stopping tri's to go whole hog with the running, you'll want to switch over!!! PM me if you have any questions!

  • Thanks for the thoughts gang. Nope, sticking to the tri-world. In fact just getting started. Had my first swim lesson/workout yesterday. Going to attempt my first Sprint later this summer. So I will stick with EN and just hack away. :-)
