Finished Chicago Marathon and now on to Cartegena

I am so pleased with my race in Chi-town marathon! so now on to the half ironman.
I've been able to get two days of riding in per week but not so much on the swim... I'm out of town for this week due to conference in Vancouver.... so hoping to find a pool.
Question:  Recommendations on running over this week and next?  I feel okay so I am sure I can do a little jogging but don't want to push it.
Also, recommendations on swimming in Vancouver?  Any EN peeps there?
I will miss you all this year in Kona!  Have a great week!  It will be awesome!!!!!
Thanks for making me fast!

  • Hi Patricia!

Jenn Edwards here. Coach P has asked a few of our Wicked Smart Members to cover the Coaches Thread while he is in Kona kicking butt and taking names.

Wow - that Chicago marathon looks PERFECTLY paced - congratulations!!!

I'd definite prioritize recovery right now and short easy runs (30' tops!) are okay as long as you have ZERO niggles.    Yep, if you're keen to swim and feeling feisty (ha!) it's a great time to swim.  Consider loading up the "Swim Camp" plan to give yourself some structure.

Hmmm.... Vancouver.... in the menu I went to "Community" then "Member Map" and it doesn't seem to be showing anyone.  Heck, I'm not even listed.  Geeze!  Apologies I don't have much to offer here, however consider posting to the dashboard as I'm betting some of our other members will know and this thread won't get much visibility to the team at large.

Hope that helps and don't hesitate to reach back out.  Congratulations again!   - Jenn

  • Thanks, Jen!   I had been scheduled to do this race in 2011 but qualified for Kona so choices being what they are....   in any case, it was my best marathon in the past 5 years.   When coach is all done with his awesome race, please send him the file.   Of course qualified for Boston and New York easily again but if and when I run another marathon it will be London.

I appreciate your help!  Hope to see you on the Big Island again!
