@Jason Brandt - exactly what I was looking for. TY so much, however I am still lost on how to upload. I have looked at the information. I guess I have to unzip the files first?
  • I did my bike test today and I have to say I’m pretty bummed. I took the year largely off last year but did what I considered to be good maintenance. I’ve dumped 6 pounds but my ftp has dropped 30 watts to 154. :-(

I’ve only missed 2-3 workouts in this block, so I am totally discouraged. Encouragement or ass kicking appreciated!
  • @Jane Hargraft don't be discouraged.  Put your head down and go to work.

I did the same thing.  After 2016 IMAZ I hadn't swam, didn't run until end of July and didn't get on my bike until October.  My first FTP test I could finish the test and had an FTP of 144.  :-(

Have 30 days of running every day and pushing the OS bike workouts to the max.  Last week I PR's the IMAZ 5k run and today's FTP test was the highest I have ever had.  Work works.  Stay focused the power and speed will return.
  • @Gary Lewis thanks for the encouragement. I feel good but my numbers don’t really reflect it right now. I’ll keep working at it!
  • @Jane Hargraft - I would second what Gary Lewis says.  The test reflects where you are today, not where you are going to be in the future. Last year my FTP came in at my lowest number over 6 years being on the team and I had an amazing season last year.  Try not to get caught up in the numbers. Remember that they are a carrot to get you to work harder. They are not an absolute. Hope that makes sense. Keeping working and that number will shift.
  • Thanks @Brenda Ross , I appreciate that info and encouragement!
  • @Brenda Ross thanks for the encouragement! Back at it!
  • Anyone else looking to wrap up Nov OS with a half marathon? Not much going on here in Wyoming, so I was looking to find something warm ...

  •  I am doing one in my hometown although it’s a little bit later – the Mercer Island half which is where I live in Washington mid-March – strictly a local affair with no medal.
  • @Stephen Smith You will definately have better weather in SoCal than Wyoming.

I’m doing the Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon that weekend in San Francisco.
