  • @Keith Shireman there is an EN team where all of the workouts exist.  I use TR for all of my trainer rides as they are structured and you can create your own, if the plan doesn't exist.

I think this is a key point. It is VERY easy to generate a custom workout in TR's Workout Creator. What I do is have a set of standard main sets, like FTP, Steady State, VO2 max, etc available. Then it takes about 30 seconds to modify as needed for length of interval, number of intervals, exact %-age of FTP to hit during interval, etc. I found that the EN workouts in TR did not have the type of warm-up I wanted to do, so creating my own was a big plus. No programming skills needed. If you can use a mouse (or trackpad) you can make a workout in a couple of minutes max. Pro Tip: I use the "Edit Text" button to leave myself motivational and instructional notes to display on the screen during my intervals.

I too am a major fan of Trainer Road and have been using it for several years now. I know Zwift is super popular and a lot of people seem to be enjoying it but I often use my time on the trainer to catch up on other things (tv shows, email, sports) and am not overly engaged in watching the workout per se. No bashing here....I just haven't been bitten by the bug.....yet!  :)

I have a request for the Trainer Road gang. Would someone please create the "EN Official Bike Warm Up" as a stand alone workout? I'm fairly proficient when it comes to creating workouts but am not sure what percentage of FTP the 3' of standing at 50/60 RPM's should be?

As described in the bike wiki (video) the 25' the warm up is:
    5' Easy Spinning
    3' Standing
    2' Easy Spinning
12' Z3 (monitoring HR & RPE) the last minute to gauge the day's work
    3' Easy Spinning

If someone would be so kind to create this workout in Trainer Road and label it "EN Official Bike Warm Up" it would be greatly appreciated!!

It's in there.  If you go to all of the EN workouts, it's one of the last ones in the list
  • TR is good, but everyone is migrating to Zwift. You can pay monthly, do workouts, just ride, race, etc..
All of this year's OS wkos are there!
  • @Scott Dinhofer is there a thread explaining how to get to those OS wkos in Zwift?
  • @Jorge Duque You can only load them and use them via computer, not AppleTV, tablet or phone. Go the the folder:
Documents/Zwift/Workouts/...  and put them there. They may have to be unzipped first, I can't remember?

Now where are the workouts? In the wiki, under Biking: https://app.box.com/s/pgme43yqtyy11w2bvzdrbst4oak9a59s

I successfully put them in, and used one several days ago on my Mac. Thanks to the team-mates who made that possible.

  • Oh...to access them in the game, BEFORE you start riding, after you are at the course selection screen, hit "Select Workout" in the "Start" box. Then click on Custom workouts in the list which appears - you may have to scroll up or down to find that. All the .zwo files you put in that folder will be there

Note that you can Airplay Zwift from your computer (Mac) to AppleTV to use the custom workouts.  Not sure about Windows.
  • I was successful following the instructions to get the OS workouts on my iPAD
  • For the AppleTV users.....

If you are also using TrainingPeaks, you can create the workouts in there, and link up the TrainingPeaks account to Zwift.  You will then be able to see the custom workouts.
