Giro Advantage 2 or Lazeer Tardiz

Trying to decide between these two helmets - need to get one as I need all the free speed I can get.  The Giro is on sale for $90 at Performance, and I'm pretty sure it will fit since I have a size large Giro Atmos now and it fits fine (Giro helmets tend to fit me well - my head is oval shaped and long as opposed to round).  The Lazer looks like a good choice as well, but I can't figure out the fit.  I know a lot of the team has bought these helments, so I thought maybe I could get some help.  As I said, I have a size L atmos and it fits fine, but I don't have much room left over - the atmos measures 9" front to back.  The Tardiz says it will fit heads with a circumference of 24 inches.  That's just what I measure, but head shape has a lot to do with it.  I was hoping someone could pull out their helmet and measure if front to back, and also maybe someone else has the Tardiz for races and the atmos for every day.  Thanks

  • THe Lazer has an ingenious cable system for tightening thehelmet, which will adjust to any SHAPE head easily. And remember, the aero helmet design means there is really infinite space at the back of your head, unlike a regular helmet

Here's a Giro Pneumo large next to the large Lazer:

LOTS of space on all sides around the "headband" which is adjustable.

  • Al - thanks for the pictures. Looks like there would be room for my head in the Lazer. It looks like it is a little wider than the Giro. Haven't been able to find a Tardiz to try on, but I have seen the adjustment system on other Lazer helments - it looks like a great idea.
