Mike Paul Official Coach Thread

Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

Your Notes

Just finished IMAZ did IM Choo 8 weeks prior. Was in decent shape for Choo and planned on having AZ be my big race. Injured my low back a week after Choo so spent the next 6 weeks nursing my back and no training. Showed up in Tempe wanting to finish the day with all time goals gone. Long day in AZ but took it slow finished the day late at night but my back held up great for the day and I’m ready to get back at it and to have a great race in Texas. Both of my IM races this year were slow but I did not push or peak for either one of them. I have gone just over 12 hours a couple years ago, that was on decent training but still not as consistent as I could have been. My goals this year are to get my body weight back down have a great race at IM TX and shoot for 11:30 or under for IMCHOO.

Coach Notes

Assuming you are healthy, I have you starting back up with the OutSeason Plan into the Minimalist EN*Full Plan so you can get fit but not over do it. Ideally this is a gradual reentry (start with beginner OS maybe?) and then we roll through the year, and the Get Fast Plan (Exit early!) into the proper full plan into Choo.

If you _are not ready_ to get back after it, no worries...let me know and we'll figure out an alternate plan!

Let's get to work!
