  • Well Brenda was right! I did all 3 hrs....okay 2 hrs 58min20 sec to be exact. 20.53km...just short of a Half Marathon all in the woods on trail...it was a success! Nutrition was spot on except forgot my salt.....it was a sweatfest to say the least. I don’t know how hardcore trail runners do it for those ultras.

BBQ was great on the Big Green Egg . Great good, great company, lots of laughs, discussion about next season etc

Just one of those summer days I love!

  • The bike on Sunday was 1.5 hours, no run. I cannot off the bike the day after an Enduranc run...

  • Nice work! Don’t get too stressed about packing things up on the second day. That takes a little time to adapt to. Plus you’ve done a lot of big wreck this season already. It’s more about consistency and getting the workout started on the second day. Consider it as much of a mental win as anything.

  • That should have read, I cannot run off the bike the next day...I can bike bike no problem but that run is asking for an injury with running two days in a row. By just biking I have 2 days of non running after my long run.

    Thanks

  • So another favourable report this week on the long run.

On Saturday the Ross duo and my self went to a brand new trail about 45 minutes from Ottawa called Marlborough Forest.

Steve had mapped the route which was to be a multi loop fo4 all of us. It was a combination of gnarly forest, crushed gravel, trail with rocks and a dirt road. Nice mix of crazy.

After last weeks sweatfest of humidity, this week was much cooler as there was no humidity...perfect running weather.

I ran the farthest I ever have....15.50 miles in 3hr14min and it was great....The gnarly woods part, I exercised caution and walked quickly ...didn’t want to rollover on my andkle or worse.

So I see improvement each week as I continue to push myself further nd farther....yet its only possible with great running partners like Steve and Brenda.❤️

  • that is great news! I agree, you all make a fantastic team. Remember you will need extra special recovery after such long runs so please continue to take care of yourself, possibly considering a Monday off as needed.

  • Yes Monday is always my Day off ....weekends are full with doing the “heavy lifting” as I call it. Saturday’s are long runs and Sundays are bike rides for recovery.

    Have a great week
