Bill Boileau Official Coach Thread

@Bill Boileau -

Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

  • Coach P-Thanks for the season plan.  I guess I should have mentioned this will be my 4 IM (Louisville '08 12:28, Wisconsin '13 12:55, Mont Tremblant '15 12:18).  Reason I mention it is because you asked about my goals.  Would love to go sub 12 hours on IMLP.  You mentioned doing a half before.  Eagleman (June 10) is an option but not sure if that is too close to placid.  If I do do Eagleman, should I put it to try and go sub 5 hrs or steady pace.  Sub 5 is a goal of mine for a half and have hovered around 5:20-5:30.
  •  Yes, definitely tell me about your past races this helpful!  :D

    I like the idea of us tackling both goals are good though we may not hit them. If we do things right, he will have the fitness to sustain your fitness across bith events.

    The biggest thing to work on here is your bike as that’s the safest and easiest way to build speed at both intensity (for an early race) and endurance across the whole year.

    In addition, the run frequency program will help you build the capacity to bring that marathon time down, much closer to you half marathon time.

    Sound good?
