Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

currently in the run durability #2, did preseason plans before that after finishing season. starting 2nd year with team. haven't planned tri season races yet but looking to do a 1/2 marathon in May 2018.

I like the idea of us tackling both goals are good though we may not hit them. If we do things right, he will have the fitness to sustain your fitness across bith events.
The biggest thing to work on here is your bike as that’s the safest and easiest way to build speed at both intensity (for an early race) and endurance across the whole year.
In addition, the run frequency program will help you build the capacity to bring that marathon time down, much closer to you half marathon time.
