Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

Your Notes

I have been taking some time off (about a year and a half). Am ready to get back into the swing of things.

over the last few months I have been concentrating on dropping some weight (Started at 216 and am now at 195). I have been doing some cycling (about 100 miles a week) and some running about 3-4 runs a week.

Coach Notes

Man, those are great gains on the Body Comp front...super awesome!

Now it's time to start rolling in the traditional training to make sure that you are starting the right build. I have you doing the Run Durability Program for now until the February OutSeason Plan. You can do the L1 or L2 workouts in that plan as you continue to lay the run foundation. Then you can really fill in the body of your year as you see fit. I have some good ideas for you around Bike Focus and the GetFast plan, but you might actually be able to get into a race (OLY or Half, etc).

Let me know what you think and let's get to work!

  • Thanks @Coach Patrick

I am planning on doing a few sprints and Olys this years, just not sure when yet.

Last week was a good week for me.  Got in 3 Zwift rides including a FTP test (245 Kickr, 238 Quarq) and 17 miles of running.

I was a little worried about the weekend as I was out of town. No treadmill and -1 degrees makes for a cold hour run.
  • @Josh Dutton - Wow! The picture is definitely one for the archives.

I’m really excited to see the consistency that you’re putting up and that you’re already feeling the positive effects. That is a great baseline number for you to build off of.

Ideally by the end of the off-season we put close to another 10% on top of those numbers. I hope it warms up a little bit for you soon!

    Your Notes

I have done a few sprints this year. Have been training for IMFL 2018. Previous years, two full IM and a handful of 70.3.I have been following the plan you outlined for me since the beginning of the year in preparation for IMFL 2018. However with the location and date change I won't be able to do IMFL this year and have had my registration transferred to IMTX 2019.

After IMTX 2019, I am planning on doing Traverse City 70.3 2019 and IMFL 2019.

    Let's get to work!
