NovOs Week 12 - bike thread
Captain here.
We have three weeks left and soon many of you will transition to whatever Coach P has you doing. This week is very similar to all the other weeks. No testing but week 14 is a 10K or Half Marathon. Run durability should be a goal for everyone. Not distance and intensity but frequency at a TRP pace. It will be interesting to see what a running race would look like coming off a run durability plan, along side FTP and V02 bike workouts.
It's always good to bring up the importance of eating and drinking around these hard sessions. If riding or running indoors dehydration can be just as real as training outside. Drink up.
Keep your eye on the prize. Victory comes in may forms.

Right now in pain management mode for my hip and knee. I will try to focus on the bike as it less impact.
Nice job on that HM! Recover a few days. Very light spinning on the bike to push some blood through the legs and hip will accelerate recovery. Stretching twice a day and sleep.

Looking forward to some sun and warmth while running down Ali'i drive!
I'm thankful our vacation didn't start a week earlier. Being there during the erroneous Ballistic Missile alert would have been terrifying!
@Gary Lewis congrats on your run. Your back issue sounds like someone should take a look? Since I rehabbed my hip all last year (and this year) I've been getting relief by working glutes. Tight glutes make for bad knees.
@scottimlay aloha!! Sounds wonderful. A big block of running and swimming.
Did the FCC Crazy Train on Zwift this morning. Great one for Tuesday FTP work. Not so good trying to wake up....felt like a bad dream at the time: https://www.strava.com/activities/1359899664
The biggest difference I see between the "A" and the "B" levels on Zwift is that those "A" turn 5+ w/kg on the uphill climbs/sprints......
Coffee time.

KMF man can report his own experience of running only in Z2/3, then racing.
Work works........

I am copying this from @Paul Curtin s post in another thread. I love it. Whatever OS plan you are on keep squeezing that circle out.
Humbling........
I'm doing Santa Rosa too. Weather permitting, I'm going to head up in the next weeks and check out the bike course and road conditions. I promise to report my findings
