Brandon Neal Official Coach Thread
Here's your personal Coach Thread, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is here to guide you through your first year on EN, so you can always come back here.
As you'll see in this forum, I handle all manner of edits and changes. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.
Power User Tip: Click the Star icon by the Title of this thread to subscribe, and you'll get email updates when I do reply.

Coach Notes
Welcome aboard, Brandon! Super quick turn around with your training; I'd like you to jump right into the Second Week of our OutSeason Plan in order to get on track for your race. The OS is the most important plan of our year, and I don't want you to miss out one what's possible there for you with regard to your overall fitness.
You will exit the OS a bit early to jump into our EN*Half Plan and start dialing it up for CHOO 70.3. You'll likely want a half marathon in the April timeframe if that's possible, but you don't need to do a triathlon before CHOO.
We can dial in more on our Coach Call: https://calendly.com/pmccrann/15min -- looking forward to it!

Good talking yesterday!!!! I wanted to follow up on the main notes that I had for you.
First, your current training set up is good (Team, Solo, etc) but if you want to make changes (Pwoermeter / Zwift) then we have to decide sooner or later. Just not too close to your race!
Second, if you want the Team input on a power meter you should ask them in the Power / Pace Forum...they can really help you make a smart decision.
Third, speaking of power, here is the info you need from us re: Getting Started on Zwift. If you get a power meter, then you can just use a "dumb" trainer (like a fluid one, likely the one you have) as the PM will communicate with Zwift using an Ant+ USB stick you put in the side of your laptop. If our stuff is overwhelming, then just go check out Zwift's help site as it's pretty good.
Fourth, the nutrition piece is all in the Wiki here under Nutrition.
Finally, please set up your next call with me for February!!!!
