Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

Your Notes

I maintained a fitness level that would have supported a Half Ironman through July, but was at sea on a submarine and lost some of that fitness. Further, I hurt my left knee and it wasn't improving, so I took 2 months off of running and was using the elliptical up to 4 hours a week and HIIT style workouts to stay fit. I am back to healthy with my knee now. I swam though college and beyond and have never had to try very hard to be able to succeed in the water. I have done a full distance a 5 half distance triathlons in the past, with many more olympic distance races.

Coach Notes

Joe, looking forward to helping you get back on track with some structure and focus. Your year looks great from a "do-ability" perspective. I'd like to put you into our Run Durability Program for the first bit, exit early, and then join the Team in the February OutSeason Plan for some good old fashioned work. A bit of post OS recovery in the Swim Camp and then we do a shot of GetFaster (unless you want to follow a SHORT COURSE plan here) to get another dose of speed. Then it's EN*Half time into Montauk.
