talk about good sports ...
This is what loss in Vietnam looks like. In Ho Chi Minh City on vacation, and tonight was the men’s u23 Asian football finals, Vietnam vs Uzbekistan.
Vietnam lost 2-1 in extra time.
So Saigon erupted in celebration. Literally hundreds of thousands (millions?) in the streets on mopeds and foot celebrating like they won the World Cup and every Olympic gold medal. reportedly the biggest sports celebration in the city, ever. We walked about 40 blocks and every one was packed solid as below. Multiply that by the gazillion blocks we didn’t see. Total jubilation.
Again: Lost; men’s u23; Asian championships. And no hyperbole ... Larger than any celebration I have ever seen for anything, ever. Unreal.
