Kristi Paradis Official Coach Thread

Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

Your Notes

I spent the fall building up run durability then I did a 40 day run streak Dec 25 thru Jan 31. I ran at least one mile per day and did up to 8 miles. The last week I did the Tour of Sufflandria! I've been doing core strength 2-3 times per week as well.

Coach Notes

Kristi...what a GREAT winter you've had so far...fun and effective!!!! You are in a great place to transition over to a proper plan. I recommend you just jump right into the OutSeason Plan and get to work (you can handle it). We'll want to make sure that you are doing the right level of training (likely Level 2 for Intermediate). Then it's skipping out on Week 14 (no testing for you!) in favor of one week of Swim Camp before hitting the remainder of the EN*Full Plan

As always, it's nice to get in some early season bike volume, say in May...not sure if that fits your life / schedule, but we can do it if needed. Please check out the plans above, load them up and tell me what else you need.

Let's get to work!

  • Greetings Coach!

I am in my final weeks of training before IMCA! Feeling ready to get out there and race! I am looking ahead to next week.  I am unable to take Fri off next week and cannot do two days of LONG training.  Thoughts on if this will impact training TOO much.  I can do a 3 hr ride Fri am and a 3-4  hour ride in the afternoon, with a run somewhere. I am planning on doing a BIG S-B-R on Sunday.

    Thank you. Kristi

  • @KRISTI PARADIS - thanks for the update! The key part of that weekend is the back to back weekend rides. So if Friday is tough, and you have a big SBR planned for Sunday can you do a decent bike on Saturday (Saturday + Sunday rides). That would "satisfy" the training requirement.

If not, we could go 3h Fri AM, 3h Sat AM, then longer SBR on Sunday...let me know!

  • OK I can do that! I can work in a 4 hour Sat I think. If not for sure the Fri AM/Sat AM combo. Thank you!
