Tupper Lake, anyone else racing? Can I beat my old self by an hour?
This will make the 5th year in a row that I am racing the Tupper Lake half. First one I ever did. Hope to have a decent race although I am no where near where I had planned to be at this point. The combination between laziness, general apathy and falling off my bike this spring was not a winning combination. Feel that I have some unfinished business with the course after racing last year with a nagging achilles injury and walking all of the uphill parts of the run.
5 years ago my time was 5:40:23 which was swimming 37:30 - biking 2:59:20 running 1:53:53 with the transitions being forever long 4:50 and 4:52 [wonder what the hell I was doing for all that time?]. The question is can I beat my 5 years ago self by an hour? I have never swam less than 35 minutes at Tupper as it is a really hard swim for whatever reason, my best on the bike there was last years 2:28 [.82] and 2 years ago's 1:36:xx. Figure I will need to swim 33 ish, ride sub 2:30 and run sub 1:35 to have a chance. Should be interesting.
Anyone else racing?
