February Outseason 2018 - Week #7
Welcome to week 7! It’s hump week.
We are at the halfway point of our training block. For those who tested, we got our first taste of intervals with our new FTP. They were definitely challenging. I am feeling much stronger after seven weeks and I am looking forward to the rest of our training block.
This week, we are getting longer threshold intervals on Tuesday, more VO2 max intervals on Thursday and longer threshold/tempo intervals on Saturday. Basically - more of everything.
My week will be turned upsidedown. I am writing this post from a hotel room in Tokyo. My travel plans are going to force me to front load my runs and backload my cycling this week. The plan is to get in three runs while I’m here, including my long run, and then ride Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Rain is forecast for the next three days so there may be some treadmill runs in my future. Next weekend in Connecticut is supposed to be above freezing so I am going to try and get some miles outdoors.
Last week, some job and parenting conflicts trimmed two of my cycling workouts, but I still got in 90 miles on the bike and 19 miles of running. My 4-week running average is 18 miles and I feel like I am getting back to being a runner.
Hope that hat everyone has a great week of training !
