Syncing workouts via Tapirik

I know that several of us used to use tapirik to transfer/sync activities and workouts between Training Peaks, Garmin Connect and/or Strava.

Well, I haven't been able to get mine to work since Oct 2016. Even with manual intervention (not paying for the auto-sync).
I would like my TP activity to feed to both GC and Strava, if at all possible.

Is tapirik still the way to go to do this, or is there something else out there now that's easier and better?

NOTE: I'm a cheapass, so don't even bother mentioning anything that is expensive or bills too much on a monthly subscription.

Thanks!

  • Yeah, way back when (2016 & before?) I used Tapirik to move my data from one site to another. Since then, almost everybody has learned how to share seamlessly. E.g., I upload a workout from my Garmin (actually, it uploads automagically when I hit "Done" and am in the presence of a known WiFi network). From there it instantly travels to TP (and from there to WKO on my computer), to Strava, to Final Surge. Of course, ya gotta be careful you don't get double transmissions, eg, I have to tell Zwift/Strava to NOT send on to TP. The only manual thing I have to do is avoid having double workouts from Zwift show up on Strava - my solution is to make the extra one (the one from my Garmin, usually) "Private" so it doesn't show up in the feed or the EN group totals.

A little looking around in each site will show you where you can set up the auto feeds to flow. Just be careful your don't overdo it as I noted above.
  • I believe you're the one that told us all about tapirik in the first place, way back when! haha

What I'm looking for, ideally, is to have me manually load (yes, that's what I do) my workouts to WKO4, where they sync to online TP (does that now), from there I want them sent to GC and Strava.

I like TP/WKO4 for the ability to put notes and comments in, and have those modified names and text flow to the other sites. I don't want to have to do all that manually once the details get over to GC or Strava.

    Make sense?
  • ASFAIK, TP can receive, but not send - maybe on Premium? Most of these sites deal in .csv files, or the proprietary variants like .tpx, .gpx, .fit, etc. And only sensor data gets sent, so transmitting free text wouldn't go anyway. To refine the pathway I described above, my Garmin goes first to Garmin Connect, I guess, then to the various other sites. Zwift goes only to Strava. I block Strava from sending anything out so I don't get duplicates anywhere except in Strava.

I too like the idea of a daily training diary, in which I can out info in any form I want. I've been using an old app called The Athlete's Diary since ... forever for that. To me it's worth the 30-60"/workout it takes to write in the time, distance, brief description, and any details I want to highlight.
  • ok @Al Truscott - what's "Final Surge"?

Coach P is looking into it as a potential partner for use as a training log/workout analyzer/coach-athlete communicator. He had a few of us test it out since Dec. It's great as a workout calendar, individual wko analysis, and for coach athlete interaction, but lacks trend analysis like PMC.
