Vibrams or Sneakers

I hope someone can help me. I typically run in vibran 5 fingers. However, as I prepare for a 50 k in key west, I need to transition to sneakers. The race is scheduled for May 19. Any suggestions on when I should make the transition would be appreciated.

  • I've never run in vibrans but I have transitioned to and from zero drop shoes in the past. I'd recommend transitioning now/asap in order to give your feet/lower legs time to adapt and for you to get some long runs in the shoes. Since the vibrans are zero drop, you should go with shoes that have a zero drop too. Good luck in your race!
