Extremely frustrated with the HIM plans in Final Surge

I listened to the podcast, read through the feedback in thread from January and have deleted and reloaded the HIM run and bike focused plans several times. I do not understand why the plan load properly. The plan continues to show long runs on Wednesdays, long bike rides on Friday and a Sunday swim.  I changed my week start to Monday. What the heck. If I had hair I would be pulling it out right now.

  • @shack - best part of Final Surge is that I can see your plans...so, it looks like you set your race day to be a Saturday (vs a Sunday); that will push the plan back by a day.

Ideally what you do is load the plan to end on a Sunday, then edit the final week to conform with EN guidelines (dropi the monday, move everything "Back" by a day. Make sure you then add a "Day Off" to sunday so when you wake up post race you don't try to put on your Heart Rate Monitor and train!!!  :dizzy:

So you need to MOVE the workouts by a day to get them to match up. Go to the nearest Monday, click on the "+" sign and then choose "Copy / Move / Delete".

In the pop up box, click "Move / Shift"

Then choose the Start and End dates of the Move. In this case you have loaded a 20 week plan so the dates are 20 weeks apart (Sunday = Day 1, Saturday = Day 140). Then click Continue.

Now you need to choose the NEW "first" day of the plan, which is Monday 5/28/2018.  When you select the START date, it will do the math for the END date, and you should confirm that does make sense. Click continue when you are done.

The move options will now show up with a Green Button to actually confirm the Move.

Now that the Move is complete, you can click Refresh.

Now your weeks have been successfully moved....happy training.

PS I can only help with Final Surge, not the hair thing!

  • Thanks in advance, Coach. I really appreciate the quick response. It worked great for my swim camp. Absolutely loved final surge for two weeks.
