Stamford CT
I have a female friend of mine from Dallas who just got a job based in Stamford CT (honestly, couldn't tell you the company - but I know she's in sales).
She's looking for a new home (apartment) in Stamford CT, for $1500 or less that takes dogs.
She's really kinda clueless about it. She should have taken care of this BEFORE taking the job, but she wouldn't listen.
Any ideas?

You can pm me. I work in stamford, and used to live there for 5 years (live in milford now) . $1500 for a 1 bedroom is a little tight but not impossible. She should probably look at people renting a floor in their house . Have her take a look at the classifieds section of http://www.stamfordadvocate.com
Also if she doesn't mind a commute she can look at places like fairfield, milford, etc which would be cheaper than stamford.
What's the local bike/tri shop for Stamford? All the way to NJ?
She's been there for over 6 months and still hasn't found anything (Honestly, I don't think she's looking all that much and just wants stuff handed to her-but that's a whole different story).
I saw this on Slowtwitch the other day:
I am pleased and proud to be able to announce the opening of Pacific Swim, Bike, Run, a new tri-specific retail and training facility opening up in the Harbor Point section of Stamford, CT. The retail will open this upcoming Tuesday (2/15/11) and we are about 3 weeks away from the training center from opening.
Not sure if it's any good but it is close.

Yes, a guy from my local Boston tri club, Jared Gell moved down there to work at that shop (looks like he is the poster on ST) - he formerly worked at Wheelworks in Belmont, MA. From FB today:
"If you haven't been by Pacific Swim Bike Run yet because we have only been open weekdays. Well...we are open on Saturdays too!!! We look forward to seeing you at the shop (575 Pacific Street in Stamford, CT). Free water bottles and tote bags with your purchase while supplies last."
Couple of different options.
1. Pacific Swim Bike Run is the new store in town. Only been there once . They were still setting up stuff. But pretty knowledgeable staff.
2. Cycle Center (lbs) for most cycling stuff. Have a good selection of tri bikes. They also get tri gear on request.
3. Treads & Threads in Greenwich is useful for quick stuff.
4. Target Training is great tri shop in westport. They have a good selection for tri related stuff , sometimes a bit expensive. A couple of local pros train out of there (I know Jordan Rapp used train there).
Beyond that SBR in the city.
