I'm losing it! HELP!!!
I haven't been able to train for almost 3 weeks and I'm going crazy. I've put so much time and effort in this out season and I'm afraid I'm losing it all. I bitching like this but I really do not hang out with any other triathletes and really no one could give a shit here if I'm training or not! I think we are a tough crowd to understand since the majority of our population doesn't really know what fitness is.... for example, my friend told me I was obsessed with training now because I did a trail run 2 weeks ago.... I have trained no more than 1 hour for 5 days a week, have been on 2 2hr rides, and 2 3hr rides since Nov. That is about my high school training, am I crazy? Anyway, life has really kicked me in the ass with school ending for me, my summer job starting, and a little side painting job that has turned into a nightmare. PLEASE send me some good mojo, karma, whatever you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dan - Good kharma and mojo coming your way! And, yes, most of our non- long course friends are going to think we are cool, insane, or both. Don't worry about it.
Thanks everyone, glad to hear you have some experience in this, that is what I was hoping for. Always in good company here at EN!!!
In Feb/March, I missed alot of training (about 5 weeks) because of vacation and a lingering sinus infection. The harder I pushed the deeper I got into a hole. I can tell you that all your fitness will not completely exit your body. With all you have to do, make sure you get enough sleep so that when you do get time to workout, it will be a well fueled and executed one.
Hey Dan
I had a nasty bout with shingles in the middle of April and was out of it for a bit over 2 weeks. I was not happy either, and slightly panicked about my 70.3 the first week in June. But all went quite well. Your base will stay, you've earned it by now. Just be careful not to do a job on yourself mentally. I like Kitboo's advice about sleep. You definitely have a good amount of time before your A race!
Often time off is a good thing down the road. No one can "crush it" all the time. If you really want to I am sure that you can find the time to run about every day. 30 minutes is all you need.
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel next week.
