Updated Outseason Zwift files

Folks - I discovered two issues with the Zwift OS files I created. The following remedies are @Coach Patrick approved for ALL OS participants

1-the Tuesday VO2 intervals for weeks 6&7 were created with 8' intervals instead of 2' intervals. You are welcome to attempt the 8' ones, but I'd opt instead to download the fixed files and replace the old ones.

2-I've found the Saturday WKOs to be grueling the way they were written on zwift to be a bit difficult in regards to the FTP section. The new files for 5 weeks have a 5' rest interval before and 3' rest interval after, added into the file.

To implement these, simply download the new folder at this location, unzip and save the new files into the folder where your Zwift OS workouts are saved, the new files have the same names as the old ones and just say yes to replace them.

I believe that later today Coach P will update the full downloads to contain the new files for anyone that hasn't done that yet.

  • Here are the full download ZIP files...you want to choose the UPDATED ones (see image)... http://bit.ly/2PiJGrZ

Note: I left the old ones there just in case...need some redundancy...

  • @scott dinhofer @Coach Patrick - Can we replicate these changes to the RF files as well, since they have the same issue, per the following thread:

    https://endurancenation.vanillacommunities.com/discussion/25610/nailing-the-basics-zwift-errors#latest

  • I think the files should be the same for that week... if you pull them out of the BF package.

  • @scott dinhofer - I hear you on pulling the files from the others that is the easiest way and works as a stop gap. I guess the question for @Coach Patrick is, does he want to update those RF zip files by pulling out the updated BF ones, renaming, etc and putting them into an updated set of RF zip files or just leave it as is.

The main downside to the later is that anyone who pulls these down in the future will likely not know that those workouts should be replaced with specific ones in bike focus. I just happened to remember this thread popping up so was able to figure out root cause of the issue when one of our folks ran into this for the JanOS.

  • @Patrick Hayden Sounds like there is an issue with the RF ZWO files. Can you get me a list of the weeks to "Fix" so I can update the files by duplicating them?

    @Coach Patrick

Wk06 & Wk07 are the core VO2 Max workouts that are off by 3 mins. They could be fixed by replacing them with the files in the equivalent updated RF zip, e.g.:

    2019_OS_L1/2/3_BF_Wk06_Tue(1)

    2019_OS_L1/2/3_BF_Wk07_Tue(1)

When the updates were made, they also updated the BF Wk06-10's Saturday workout to have recovery between the main sets. However, I believe for RF Sat's workout is instead on Sunday, so they would need to be renamed as appropriate for that.

    2019_OS_L1/2/3_BF_Wk06/07/08/09/10_Sat

In all cases 2 changes are needed; file name and within the text file the
would need to be changed to RF as that is what is pulled into Zwift for a workout name.

If you open a BF updated zip file, you can pretty easily see these ones that changed as they have a (1) after their name. Those are the ones that should be moved over and updated

  • @Patrick Hayden - thanks brobeans! I think I got it all right..,all the BF WKOs copied over that were "new", changed to RF and changed SAT to SUN...in both ZIP and "individual" download files here...

  • @Coach Patrick - Files look to be the right ones, the only potential item that may need to be fixed is inside the files the "name" is still BF so it will likely sort by that when they are pulled into the Zwift custom workout list. For example (BF highlighted):

I opened it with a text editor (notepad/wordpad on PCs or textedit on Macs). You can just edit via one of these tools (its how I updated similar items for the Bike Focus workouts in the past).
