Natto - Japanese fermented Soybeans
Japanese superfood with an acquired taste. Its a fermented food with a strong flavor similar vegemite to get used to, it also has a stringy not attractive consistency or pleasant mouth feel. About a year ago I read about it and tried it, no freaking way, I just couldn't stomach it.
Then I stumbled upon the dried version.https://www.amazon.com/d/Dried-Soy-Beans/Japanese-Dried-Fermented-Beans-Hoshi/B009ZR1TAY/ref=sr_1_8_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1544029665&sr=8-8&keywords=natto and tried it again. While still a strong smell/flavor it was one I actually liked, and the stringy consistency was gone.
Does anyone supplement with or consume natto? Has anyone tried it? @Sheila Leard thoughts comments on this?

All I can say is if it is ANYTHING like vegemite... RUN LIKE HELL~!!
@tim cronk Natto is a good source of Vit K2.
K2 is a cofactor for calcium absorption into bones. There are two kinds of K. Natto and fermented cheese like Jarlsberg are natural sources of K2. The thought of eating any form of Natto is repulsive. I supplement with K2 for bone health. Another reason to have a healthy gut microbiome is that K is made in the gut from healthy micro-flora.
I looked up that product you mentioned http://tengunatto.com/ Hard to say how much is beneficial. I say it all counts. I don't know what the studies are saying about supplementing with Nattokinase.
@Sheila Leard thank you, I like everything I have read about Natto , I actually really like the dried Natto. I am finding it difficult to find out just how much I should eat per day and what is the best time of day to consume. For now I am doing a teaspoon before bedtime.
