2019 December OS Week 2 Bike and Run thread
Hi Team!
After being sick for a month and then recouping from lost IMFL training - I am finally getting back in the saddle as it were - My goal is to get back into training shape for IMFL Race Specific work starting in February. I have a LONG road ahead of me but IMTX is my B goal race - my A race is IMFL this Fall, racing with both my Sister in law and her boyfriend! It is a true Family event!

Monday was self-care day with Chiro visit
Last night's Bike was a fail in my eyes but I got it done. My HR was ridiculously high the entire time, avg 162!

I did a little brick run off of the bike to test the legs - felt noodley and I love it! I have missed that feeling.
I am ready for tonight's run and for tomorrow's brick, hoping that I will not have the same HR issues but this time I will do things differently, i.e. pick a flat course and make sure my gear is calibrated well before starting.
How is week 2 going for everyone else?

I'm right there with you! i'm coming off 6 months off and geez my legs are tired. The bike/run yesterday went well. I actually felt good a mile into the run. I don't have very many hills where i am, so i'm going to try to find an overcrossing to run over a few times. Maybe next week i'll get on the treadmill.

It has been a while since my legs felt this tired. But, in a few weeks i'm sure they will adjust.
Jenniferlyn- Sounds like a busy year. I did 2 IM in one year once and just hated training for the 2nd one. Of course the 2nd one conflicted with a ton of kids activities that i helped out with. I'm sure your high heart rate is because you were sick. In a few days your body will readjust to the workload. I've had those stretches in the past also.
Had an ok run yesterday. Got almost 5 miles in. Found a few 'hills' (also called overpasses here ;-). In a few weeks, hopefully i can just get on the treadmill for the hill workout.
Having trouble finding time for the bike today. It may have to be late tonight.
It does feel good to have my legs be tired like this. Its been a while!

So.... Kinda sorta jumping in on the DEC OC as my OS ends at the 24 Hrs in the Old Pueblo MTB race (doin a duo team) Then IM focus to IM SR.
Just finished IM 70.3 IW with mixed results....have achlies/ankle issues - may need surgery...so in a run jail now (possible boot later) So Strength and swim are heavy next 2 months with a bit of LSD Higher than usual OS MTB riding.... Oh and Body Comp.... M-U-S-T drop 15-20lbs 10% BF By IM SR
BUT I'm EN OS in spirit!
Ok, i've kept up until Christmas week and i think i'm going to bail and join the Jan OS. For some reason I can't get motivated to go run. Cycling on the trainer isn't a problem, but i just can't seem to get myself out the door to run. Hopefully i'll figure it out in the next 10 days until the Jan OS starts...
Plus, it seems really quiet here.... Goodluck everyone!
