Comparing different Power Meter outputs

Last fall I purchased a new crank based PM. I also had purchased a new smart trainer. The two of them seemed to be about 10% different. While watching my Garmin for the crank and TrainerRoad for the trainer it was obvious. It wasn't obvious exactly how much different they were. I just came across this link and thought it might be helpful to others in the same spot. I have not set it all up and tried it yet, but It looks very simple.

  • Another option:
DC Rainmaker has a power meter data comparison tool:
    https://www.dcrainmaker.com/analyzer
Its not real time, but you can look at all the data after the workout and
    compare accuracy and averaging etc.
    $29/year - unlimited use
$5 for the day - unlimited use for the day
I compared my Stages to my trainer in different scenarios- sprints, ramp
ups, steady state. I got everything I needed in the day.
It was pretty easy to use. He (of course) has a long and detailed
    instruction set.
