Allison Wong Official Coach Thread

@Allison Wong -

Here's your personal Coach Thread, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is here to guide you through your first year on EN, so you can always come back here.

As you'll see in this forum, I handle all manner of edits and changes. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

Power User Tip: Click the Star icon by the Title of this thread to subscribe, and you'll get email updates when I do reply.

Coach Notes

Allison, glad we have connected about your races, and to get you on track. As you can see below, I have outlined the other plans I recommend you use for the year! Of course, we can edit as we need to.

That said, I see you mentioned being tired in the OutSeason® ...We can remedy that. From Final Surge I can see some 60 to 90 minute strength sessions on Mon / Wed / Friday...I am not sure how much you are swimming, or what those extra workouts are, we need to Make sure you are rested enough to do the training as a whole. I am happy to help you add a day off, etc, just let's talk bout where...and since we haven't talked yet, please set up a Coach Call here: https://calendly.com/pmccrann/15min

Down the road, some of the plans are only "partly" loaded (to the Half Marathon) so here's how you can do that on Final Surge from our Help Site: https://www.endurancenation.us/help/loading-specific-plan-weeks-into-your-final-surge-calendar/

Your Notes

I did Ironman 70.3 Eagleman 2018 in 6:53, and I did NYC Marathon 2018 in 5:03. These were firsts for both those distances. I had minor issues with ITB, tight hips, and ankles while training for the marathon but I did daily mobility work and was able to hold the issues at bay. I feel like my fitness has suffered. I used to be a lot faster on short bike time trials (24 miles) and 5k running races, but feel like everything is such a struggle now to run or ride at the paces I used to do easily.I am following the EN Outseason Level 1 Bike focus plan right now. After 2 weeks, I started having major fatigue issues, so I took a week off, and easing back into the program. Not sure if this aggressive plan is right for me due to the fatigue.
