2019 70.3 Steelhead Kick Off Thread
Welcome to your official 2019 race thread! This will be home for you and your fellow teammates who are competing (and have competed) to train, learn and share with one another.
You’ll find lots of historical information here in this forum, and you can search above or use the main forum page. But it’s just as important to add your information from this year -- your workouts, volume weekends, race plans, highs and lows...it’s all here.
Race Captain - We Need One
Ideally your event has a race captain to lead by sharing their training and generally being a really awesome, supportive person online. If you have one, their name is ^above^ … If not, you can request to become the Race Captain via email here (just remember to tell us the race you want to lead). You’ll get a free month of EN membership and some other cool stuff as our way of saying thanks.
We have a basic schedule to support the Race Captain, you can view it here and it’s not a ton of work. Even if you don’t have a race captain, you can all use that schedule to make sure You are connecting around the critical parts of your season.
Looking for Your Fellow Racers?
Sometimes the hardest part of getting the community around a race started is finding your fellow racers! You can do that via our Race Database (online here, password is WORKWORKS) where you can search by race name such as “Placid,” etc. Once you have a list of names, you can use the “@” sign to tag them here in this thread (so they are notified) or you can send them a private message via the Forums as well.

So the new date for Steelhead is fast approaching at the end of the month - June 30th. If there is interest, we can plan a team lunch on Saturday. Let me know and I'll arrange.
This is my third Steelhead race. @Larry Peters , you have been busy but are you gong to swing over to Benton Harbor and hang out?

I will probably only make the trip down on Saturday or Sunday, and I'm assuming the cheering for you all on Sunday would be more beneficial than eating lunch with you all on Saturday. I'd be tempted to to ride my bike down Saturday and ride back Sunday if anyone has a spare bed (but it is 90 miles each way, so that may be a little crazy)....
So it's just you and me out here so far, Rob. Deb and I are staying at an AirBnB in Berrien Springs. My mobile is 513-919-9627. Perhaps share yours with me and we can try to connect to confirm plans. Would love to see you again but understand if it doesn't work out.
Separately, I went to the Race database to try to call out everyone registered for Steelhead but that function isn't working. @Brenda Ross , how do you suggest Rob and I try to create some mojo around this race with ENers planning to do it? I don't expect you to list everyone like you did last year but welcome your ideas on how to figure out which teammates are registered!
I am also waiting for IM to add a function to search for everyone on a team to follow on the tracker. Perhaps I'll send that idea in to them!
