I read that article this morning as I was drinking my protein-laced Infinit recovery drink. It is crazy weird see huge difference in even a preliminary study. And should I have just eaten pastry and made more fat?
Really intesting. I think it would be great if all the Type A trigeeks who are prone to playing with banned substances get their hands on too much estrogen...might make them easier to pick out in their trisuits.
Seriously, I am not surprised to hear this. M and I do very similar training and yet eat / recover very differently. Interested to see where this leads...thanks for sharing!

YES! No more trying to choke down protein post-workout. If we see any tri doodes eating scones with us after a hard ride and they're talking about what's on the Lifetime Channel...they're doping.
I remember a loooooong time ago articles and discussions about how woman were designed for "endurance" more than men and therefore the theory was that eventually woman would outrace men in the marathon. Yeah- that doesn't look likely. But I do think the "woman are different" is a big DUH! moment. It's the same issue with studies about heart disease or other medical issues. So many of the studies are based on men and that doesn't always translate to women.
PS- Beth, maybe we should make that scone run next week a post ride event instead of pre-ride!!
