Infinit
I have read here about several people having success with Infinit for race nutrition. How have you used it? Concentrated bottle? Only Infinit and no on course nutrition? Mix and match with on course nutrition? Any solids? I have bought some and I am to test it out in training. I have some trouble in Ironman after a full day of GE and so I am looking to experiment to see if I can make improvements. I think I have noticed @Francis Picard, @Steve boer and others mention that they have used it. Any comments will be helpful. @Sheila Leard any comments on Infinit?

I used it back when I started in this game. Everyone on EN was using it and the course nutrition was powerbar's version of sports drink that made GE taste awesome.. I now only use what's on the course, it's faster... I think anything tastes horrible after 5+ hours, so pick your poison.
if you have dietary needs, then infinite can be custom mixed. I did 2x 3 hr bottles + water, 2nd bottle in bike special needs
I know some people have made a triple-concentrated bottle to mix with water from the course. I have kept it simple, starting with regular concentration Infinit and then switching to whatever was on the course. I also use Clif Bloks, which are easy to carry in a bento.
@sid, I've used Infinit for years at IM races, for the bike. Regular strength. Start with one 32 oz bottle and one 26 oz., toss that one and pick up another @ special needs. Use the GO Far formula. Also have cliff bar and hammer gel for calories and on course add'l fluids as needed.
FWIW, its what i'm drinking every Sat mornng on Zwift rides...
@Al Truscott Do you find that you need to take in extra calories or the go far formula supplies enough.
@Zach Bennett I use a mixture of caloric sources on the bike. For a theortical 6 hr IM, I would get about 750-800 from Infinit, 4-500 from Clif Bars, 4-450 from EFS gel, and 1-200 from Gatorade Endurance. The GE is off the course, the rest on the bike (2 bottles, one bar, and a gel flask)) or Special Needs ( another bottle and bar)
I used Infinit for many years before switching off a few years ago. As a nutritional/hydrational "camel", I need very little, even at 210+lbs.
Here in TX, it gets so dang hot that I have to separate my hydration and nutrition; I cannot be ingesting calories every drink I take, or my stomach will shut down - game over! So, it's Nuun for hydration (incl light electrolytes and minimal calories) and HS waffles for my limited need of calories.
For the run, I mostly use Untappd maple syrup gels, with water (and coke later in the event).
It's just what works for me. You need to find out what works for you!
Thanks @Al Truscott @scott dinhofer @Scott Alexander and @Mike Westover. I will experiment a bit and see how I might integrate in my plan.
last year for IMWI i got all my bike calories via infinit. I started with a BTA and 2 bottles of concentrate at 5x strength, and another bottle in BSN. Every time I entered an aid station I'd do one measure of infinit and then top off with water. Each of my bottles were marked with electrical tape so i knew how much to squirt. Yes, its more complicated and slower than living off the fat of the land, but it's what works for me.
@Steve boer did you use the go far formula or did you do a custom one?
I used a custom formula
@Sid Wavrin One of the issues to be aware of when using liquid calories is dehydration. Some athletes don't have gut capacity to do a bottle of Infinit and electrolyte drink. It's risky to rely on Infinit as your only source of hydration. If you go this route remember Infinit is your fuel not your hydration.
